Hi everyone, I hope y’all had an awesome 4th of July weekend. I finally got to see my hubby and soldier after him being gone for a few weeks for training, so it was pretty awesome. I wanted to share with y’all the Zanzibar Tank that I tested out for my sunshine. I know there are so many patterns out there for little girls so when we get a good pattern for boys you have to jump on it, especially when they are on sale, like they are today (it’s actually the last day so go and get that tank pattern pronto amigos!). Use the code “HAPPYFOURTH” at checkout for 20% off!
This pattern was a super quick sew up and didn’t use much fabric at all. I actually used fabric scraps that I had left over from some of my projects and it worked just great. I’m making another tank soon with fabric of his choosing, but since this was a tester tank I wanted to make sure it was the right size for him before I bought more fabric for it.He’s wearing a size 10 and he loves it. He likes that there is a hood on it and the stripes on the side. You could easily make this in one solid color if you wanted to but both he and I like the color combos. Also, there’s different variations of the tank, a swing top, and a curved hem.I hope you love this pattern as much as I do, so make sure you hop on over to Momma Quail Pattern’s Etsy shop and buy it before the sale ends. Even if it does end and you aren’t sure whether to buy it or not, do, because it’s a great wardrobe staple and comes in sizes 2-14 so you can sew up your child another as he grows. I want to mention that I was a huge tomboy growing up and this pattern would even work on a little girl. Just use more feminine prints. I know I would’ve loved this tank when I was younger!
I’ve sewn up a few other things like the Southport Dress by True Bias and I’m about to start on the Tank Dress by Sew Caroline but I’ll show them to y’all tomorrow, Oh and also in case you don’t know there is a giveaway going on for this week’s podcast, episode 007. Caroline is giving away her tank dress pattern that I’m about to sew up! Make sure you go on over to iTunes and listen to it, or on any podcast app. You can also listen on the RLD OO7 blog post and enter to win. The giveaway ends on July 14th. Good luck!
Until next time, stay creative,
